Dear
All,
Recently I came across the news that in a hospital two
patients were died due to LEPTOSPIROSIS, it
is a bacterial disease that affects humans and animals. It is caused by
bacteria of the genus Leptospira.
In humans, it can cause a wide
range of symptoms, some of which may be mistaken for other diseases. Some
infected persons, however, may have no symptoms at all.
Without
treatment, Leptospirosis can lead to kidney damage, meningitis (inflammation of
the membrane around the brain and spinal cord), liver failure, respiratory
distress, and even death.
These patient drunk beverages from the Tin Cans (they drunk directly from the Can and not used a glass or a cups). It was found
that these thin cans were infected with dried urine of Mice containing Leptospira (it
is an infective organism).
From further investigation, it was observed that the cans
were stored in warehouse and delivered to retail stores without cleaning and
the top of the all beverage cans were contaminated than public toilets.
So clean Top end of Can with water before opening and putting your
mouth to it.
Thanks
Dr. Prashant Rajankar
